I have a cousin who is very interested in the Beswick genealogy. She has been told there were 4 brothers who lived in Scarborough England and came to New Zealand in 1853.They sailed from London Dec 10th 1852 on the ship Hampshire and arrived in Lyttleton New Zealand on May 6th 1853. The names she gave me were John, George(her grandfather)William and Samuel. We have found a Josh Beswick Lieutenant Canterbury Volunteers 9thJan 1865 and wonder if he is another brother as Samuel Beswick M.D.Surgeon joined the Canterbury Rifle Volunteers three years earlier on 4th March 1862.My cousins Fathers name was George Ernest Beswick
and we always knew him as Uncle Ernie. He married Edith Yeates.
We are wondering if there is a connection between our families. Malcolm
