My mother's paternal side is Betancourt from Puerto Rico and have been for as long as anyone can remember. We know the family comes from Northern France but don't know who came over and when. My grandfather's name was Ismael Betancourt and his parents' names were Perfecto Betancourt (1908-1989) and Benita Castro (1909-1990). They had many other children, some who died but many who survived. They're up and down the East Coast, mainly in NY/NJ but there are still many others in Trujillo Alto PR where the family has always lived as far as I know. If any of these names ring a bell please email me. Otherwise if you want you can throw some names at me and I can run them by my mother who knows the family in PR better than I do. Good luck!:)
