Hi,
I recently obtained the typewritten pages of rht 1850 and 1860 census records for the Bethany family, from the Kemper-Newton Regional Library, DeKalb MS (e-mail: webweave@cybertron.com). There are some discrepancies between the two but maybe this will give you some leads in your research.

Two name changes in the 1850 census for Wm. and Margaret Bethany family.
L(S?)aird 21 AL
Jacob 4 MS

One for Thomas and Elizabeth Bethany. Martha 6 MS
(Yes, the page beginning with James 15 is correct.)

The 1860 Census listing is as follows:

Almira 5
Hamilton 2
Sully 8 m.

Bethany, Jno H. 30 AL
Amanda 21 GA
Wm. W. 3 MS
James T. 1

Bethany, Thoas. N. 34 SC
Elizabeth 50 TN
James T. 24 MS
Hilliard 15 m
Rives 12
Permeala 10

Bethany, W.W. 56 SC
C.J. 32 f
S.J. 21 MS f
M.C. 19 f
N.F. 17 f
J.C. 12 m
H.M. 8 f
C.P 1 m

Bethany, Wm. R. 29 AL

Hope this helps a little.
