My great, great grandmother was Louisa Bodi.(Bodin, Baudin)
(I think she was Marie Louise)
She was born Aug. 1830, Vien, Monroe, Michigan Territory.
Her death certificate gives the name of her father as Louis Bodi, b. Canada. Information on her mother was given as "unknown".
She was married as Louisa Bodin in Oct 1847, age 19, in Monroe, Mi to Francis Xavier Villers (dit St. Louis) Both were listed as residents of Monroe County. Witnesses were
Cayalan Berni and Charles Chandlebor (may be transcription errors on witnessess names?)
David Bodi, son of Rose Betournay and Louis Baudin and his wife Judith Chatelreau were the sponsors for Louisa's child, Julia, my great grandmother. This is recorded in the records of the Our Lady of Mt. Carmel mission church, St Joseph Toussaint, Frenchtown, Ottawa County, Ohio.
Louisa Bodi's DOB as 10 Aug. 1830 is recorded in my grandmothers Bible and agrees with all census records except for the 1900 Lucas Co.OH one in which the enumerator entered her age correctly but her birth yr as 1840. According to her marriage record, her birth year would have been 1828 .
If Rose Betournay were her mother, Rose would have still been young enough to have a child after David who was born in 1826. Louisa also named a daughter Rose.
I appreciate any responses. Thank you.
