George Betty is my 4th great grandfather - I am a descendant through his son, John Betty. I am trying to find out the name of his wife and where they were from originally. I did find a George Betty & wife that arrived on July 4, 1766. This could be the George who became the plantation owner in Warren Co, NC. I have heard there is a book by Linville Betty about George, his son John and John's son, George W. that explains that the first George was sent to the colonies by his family when he had some troubles with racing horses and woman. He was not suppose to be the first born who would inherit, so was sent to America with the money to set himself up. Are you a descendant of George Betty? I would love to exchange information
