Dear Peter,
Thanks for the enquiry, I hope I am able to help. Sorry for the delay in answering but several personal crises have cropped up and I haven't had much time to "surf".
This is the information I have:

Walter Betty: born1819, bapt. 13 June 1824, married Sarah ? had 2 children: adelaide born 1839, and Isobel Louisa, born ?.

He was the son of Richard Betty and sarah Fisher, no trace of a marriage exists. They had several other children:-

Christiane, born or bapt 30 Oct 1823
Sarah 13 May 1824-13 feb 1825
possibly born 1815 or 1816, unsure of this
Joseph fisher, born 1817, bapt13 June 1824,
died age 19, 4 August 1837, in Bridport, Dorset.
Peter born 1821, bapt 13 June 1824
Sarah Ellen bap 13 june 1824 died 14 May 1824
" " bap 16 November 1834, Bridport Dorset.
Timothy Betty born 23 July 1826, bap 16 November 1834 Bridport , Dorset
Jeremiah born 13 September 1827, bap 16 November 1834, Bridport Dorset. All the births took place in Stoke St. Gregory, Somerset, a large village about 6 miles from Taunton.
Richard Betty, a Butcher, was born 27 July 1783, the son of Sturton Betty and Elizabeth, nee Smith. He was a brother to John Betty, who is my Gx3 grandfather. If you want more information on this generation and beyond please let me know, I have tons of it!
On the 1851 Census for Bridport Dorset, in a distict called Allington, the family are mentioned. Richeard died 1869 in Allington.
Jeremiah married Caroline ?,(she was born 1815 in Bridport, according to census) and had one child, sarah, born 1839, Bridport.
##############
Also a daughter, josephine, was born to Richard Betty and Sarah Fisher in 1833, bap 16 Nov 1834. She is on the 1851 census for Radipole, Dorset.
###############
1841 Census for Taunton St. Mary Magdalene:
Walter Betty, a Baker, born 1820, and wife Sarah, born 1821, and daughter, Adelaide, born 1839.
##############
A marriage found in Bridport:-
Richard Betty, a Baker, married Catherine Way, 11 June 1835 Bridport. One child, Sarah born 20 August 1837, Bridport.
##############
I don't have too much information on Sarah Fisher and would be grateful for any you might have, plus any info on the descendents of the persons I have ended with.
We think Timothy went to Australia but have no proof.
Hope this of help, sincerely, Eunice
