Bevel – Bevil – Beville of Tn. in the 1830’s and beyond
The father came from
Alabama before that.
I find all the usual spelling and Bevell also.
James and Mary H Beville (parents) father, at least – died before 1850

The children were:
Andrew Jackson Beville
Lewis (about 1823)
Henry D. - served in Civil War –Tn (1838 – 1911)
Edward
William
John – served in Civil War - Tn

Before James shows up, I find almost no Beville's, of any spelling in the Franklin Twp. area of Tennessee - after that the area has many, spelling is no problem as it may be that they could not spell or the spelling had not been determined or that the census takers were gov't agents and no one questioned them as to spelling.
I find positive proof of these spelling all being in this family - mostly of James, Henry D. and John - as I tracked them as best I could in civil war records.
I do not claim that anyone in that area is of the same family - but it sure looks like it - at least in the 1800's

Any help - I will share

Pam
