I'm always interested in someone researching Bevil Family in the Pike Co area, so I checked on your info, hoping to give you some info.
What I found is contrary to what you have - and you can use it as you see fit.It may send you on another search, but it does not answer your question of why Wiley and Linnie ended up in Emanuel Co.
In the 1860 census of Cobb Co. (pg. 355), Acworth,(family # 929) is Wiley Futrell age 50, M.A. 35 (female), W.A. 24, W.B. 17, J.B. 15, W.H.H. 13, E.V. 7 (all males), and M.C. 5 (female), and S.S. Buchanan 13 (female).
Also, #927 is R.J. Futrell Age 73 (female)
In the 1860 Slave Schedule, Wiley Futrell guan(? hard to read) for W.B, J.B. & W.H.H. Futrell, with a list of 5 slaves.Could they have inherited from the husband of R.J. above, or is M.A. above the 2nd wife (space between a 13yr.old and a 7 yr. old.)
Also, in the 1850 census, Monroe Co. Div. 60, pg. 31:
Jabez Moody age 73 (b. NC), Thomas Barrow 25, b.GA, and Warren Futral 8, Joseph Futral 6, Wiley H. Futral 3.The ages match even if the spelling is wrong.
Have you searched the wills of Cobb Co. to see if Wiley Futrel (Sr.) had a first wife.?Also, do you know where WHH and Linnie were married?
In 1900 WHH and Linnie are in Atlanta (ED 72, ,pg 54A); he is listed as a salesman, and she states she is mother of 5, 3 living. In 1910 they are in Emanuel Co., he is a bookkeeper on a plantation;there is a check mark in the column "Survivor of Union or Confederate Army or Navy.
I did not find the family in 1870 or 1880; probably I overlooked them.
I hope this info is helpful... Pat
