Thomas Byas was born in 1847 in Tennessee, probably Bledsoe County...He was my gg grandfather's younger brother, my gg grandfather being Caswell F. Byas. In the 1870's, Caswell and Tommy moved with their families to Clarksville, TENN. Tommy lived on Front Street in Clarksville with his wife, Narcia and had two sons William, born March 1881, and Ernest, born August 1887. When Caswell moved to Texas in 1881, Tommy remained in Tennessee. The family story is that he got so tired of people calling him Byers instead of Byas (I have had the same problem myself) that he just used the name Byers the rest of his life. Could someone tell me what happened to Tommy and his family?
Steve Byas
