Palmyra Elizabeth HALL / BYAS 1837 TN

I have who many say is a Palmyra Elizabeth BYAS, d/o of James Abner BYAS and Elizabeth HALL. Palmyra was born 18 Dec 1837 presumably in Lincoln Co, TN. She is listed in the 1850 Census as Palmira HALL in the household of Charles HOWELL. In the Lincoln County marriage records (transcripted) she is listed as Palmyra E. BYRNS when she married Caleb Bunyan SMITH on 29 Jul 1858. She lived her entire life in Lincoln County.

I am thinking that Palmyra was an illegimate child of Elizabeth HALL, who married a James Abner BYAS. However, I cannot seem to find any record of Elizabeth or James.

From what I know is that Charles HOWELL is listed as a farmer in the 1850 Census, but according to family lore, he owned a distillery and tavern, where Palmyra use to serve the patrons from an early age. It is said that Caleb SMITH, in jest, promised Charles HOWELL a fat turkey for Palmyra's hand in marriage. One day Caleb showed up with the turkey and days later they were married in the household of Charles HOWELL by parsons Old Billy Land.

Anyone know anything of these individuals?
