Sheila,
I posted this same message yesterday, but it did not seem to go through, so I will try one more time.
I have some information concerning Elizabeth Bickerstaff and George Hall which I got from a book entitled THE DODDRIDGE FAMILY IN ENGLAND AND AMERICA.This is a very large volume and obviously required a great deal of research. It seems to be fairly accurate when dealing with the Doddridge family in America, but is rather speculative in England. The decendents of Joseph Doddridge and Mary Biggs seems to be very accurate and detailed; however, the ancesters of Joseph Doddridge are questionable. The book does have a very good history of the Dutch lines of the family and they appear to be well researched. The author states that Elizabeth Bickerstaff was the daughter of Robert Bickerstaff who was a soldier with the British force that took New Netherlands from the Dutch in 1664.Robert Bickerstaff also had a son named Thomas, about whom little is known. He seems to have disappeared from the records of Kingston, NY about 1670 to 1680.If there is anything you think may be mutually beneficial to us, please contact me directly at [email protected].
