Nancy,
Some years ago, my aunt gave me a couple of pages she copied from two books. One described the Bickertons from western Penna. (Our family descended through Thomas, 1763.) The other, copied from a book entitled, “Adventures of Purse and Person” reference another Bickerton, whose relationship (to our family) at this time, if any, is unknown. It's all I have for you:

“Philip Todd (born about 1681 and died before 1740) lived at St. Stephens Parish, King and Queen County, married Ann, daughter of Edward Day of Somerset County, Maryland. Their daughter, Mary, married John Bickerton (1700-1770) who patented 3500 acres in Hanover County about 1740.”

I never saw the actual book. ER
