I've just been reading a book on Antarctic exploration and it mentions a Bickerton who was with the Mawson expedition - 1911-1913. I would guess that was the same Bickerton who was/became first professor of Physics and Chemistry in Canterbury University College in New Zealand. I was on the staff there some years ago and lived round the corner from his old mnasion - now developed as the Bickerton estate.
I'm curious to find out more about him - does anyone have anything?
