What a coincidence! I was researching Bickertons in New Brunswick, and noticed your query. My Lunds came from NB to homestead near Elkhorn Manitoba, and I have a book about Elkhorn families. Guess what: there is info and photos of Bickertons, descendants of Robert B. who came from Scotland in 1882 (actually earlier). This puts him among the first settlers there. He married Elizabeth Lillico, they had a son Jack who married Alma Thomson and had 9 children, one of whom was Albert who married Agnes Rae and had children Donna and Bill. Bill married Sharon Martin, they had 2 sons Paul and Corey = you!
According to Canada 411 you live in Portage, as the locals know it. Have you seen the book "Steel and Grass Roots"? If not, I can refer you to someone who wouldn't mind I'm sure if you drove down to have a look at it. Maybe you could find Robert's homestead: SE 20-12-27. In the book it's shown as Homestead #20607, R. Bickerton in 1881.
