Marguerite BIHEL's first husband, Edward Joseph BLAKE, was my grandmother's older brother. In 1896, my great-grandmother passed away in Irvington, NY, and her three older children (including Edward) were placed with the Sisters of Mercy in Tarrytown, NY. My grandmother was less than a year old at the time, so she was sent to the New York Foundling Hospital in NYC. She was subsequently adopted from there and never saw her father or siblings again. No one in my family even knew she was adopted until after her death. I started researching my grandmother's birth family about 7-8 years ago. The only person for whom I have succeeded in obtaining any concrete information is Edward. I was hoping that someone would be able to shed some light on Marguerite's personality and her family, how she met Edward, etc. I thought that perhaps that would help me to gain some insight about my great-uncle and his personality as well. I was also hoping to obtain genealogical information (ie. family tree)on the BIEHLs and copies of photographs of Edward, Marguerite, her parents and siblings. All I really have is a few vital statistics, but no stories to understand her personality, who she was, or what her life was like. I would appreciate ANY help you can give me in learning more about her. Notify Administrator about this message?
