Hi Ed, The father of this particular Susan Bigby (born 1841 in the area of Robertson Co., TN) is John Strother Bigby/Bigbee born abt 1818 in the area of Robertson Co., TN. Her mother is believed to be Elizabeth Wright. John "Jack" Strother Bigbee was the son of Archibald(1792) and Elizabeth (Herrin/Herring) Bigbee, and grandson of George and Sarah (Lawler) Bigbee, and great grandson of Archibald and Lydia (Calvert) Bigbee and great great grandson of George (1699) and Mary (Calvert) Bigbee of Prince William,Va. Between 1850-55 "Jack" moved to Grayson/Fannin Co. in Northeast Texas. His father Archibald (served in Rev War-was at Battle of New Orleans- died in Jan 1855 in Wheelock, Robertson Co., Texas )(not TN).) We do not know if this prompted "Jack's" move. Another group of Bigbee's from TN moved to Springfield area of Missouri. Among them was an uncle of "Jack's" by the same name, JS( b. 1795) m. to Nancy Henry. Our John Strother Bigbee, along with wife Elizabeth and children, William Thomas b. 1836-7 (our direct descendent), Marcus, Susan, John David, Phebe Maud, Henry Clay, Gustavus Adolphus ("Bud") and G. W. (believed to be George Washington Bigbee)settled in Grayson Co, TX across the Red River near Durant, OK. When Eliz. died Jack m. Catherine- of five children born, only Charles Moore Bigbee survived, Catherine and Jack divorced and Jack m. Isabelle, "Belle" and Jack's children were Cora Alice, Nora Lee, Arthur Carter, Jesse Newton and Edward Packingham Bigbee.

"Jack" was ultimately the father of 18 known children with three wives, Elizabeth Wright, Catherine Dagley and Isabelle Doolin Dobson. Family reunion meets third Sunday in May at the Community Center in Telephone, TX in Fannin County--------we maintain the beautiful little Bigbee cemetery right outside of town. "Jack" is my husband's great , great grandfather.
