Sunny, I am related to the Bigby's through my Greatx4 grandmother, Susie Bigby. She married F. Henry Walls. Some of my kinfolk hurriedly took the assumption that Susie was the daughter of James Bigby Jr. and Catherine Foreman. However, I believe Susie may be a sister to James Bigby Jr.. I have not been able to find the connection yet but I'm looking. In a book by Paul J. Long called, "Our Hill Country Heritage", it said that Susie Bigby, that married F. Henry Walls, mother was Polly Bigby. I talked to Paul J. Long and he said the woman that gave him that information was dead. She lived in Polk County Tennesseee where James Bigby Jr. and Catherine Foreman Bigby lived. Susie and Henry's daughter, Susan Jane Walls, married John Carrol Payne in Habersham County Ga.. John was from Franklin County Ga.. John was 1/4 Cherokee from his mother Nancy Payne, whose father was Thomas Trader Payne and a full blood Cherokee woman.
