Hello Terri,

This is very interesting to find your posting since I just started trying to find something more out about the family of Kathern "Katie" C. Bobo. I found she did married G.W.Bigby on the 6th July 1876. She is on the 1870 Bastrop Co, TX census with her sisters, mother, and James (H.) Smith, who are all from Alabama, presumely Fayette County. I know nothing about G.W.Bigby as yet nor have any idea of your connection to this couple. I can tell you her sisters were: Agnes, Elizal?, Clementine, then Kathern, Mary L., and Fanny B. Bobo. Her mother's name was either Juliann or Julia Ann (maiden name not confirmed) nor is her father's name confirmed. He may have died during the Civil War. I don't know what the connection is for James Smith either but this is my quest. I know that Julia A. Bobo married abt 1872 in Bastrop Co, TX to A. Shepard and are on the 1880 Bastrop Co, TX census. I have a referrence that Katie's sister, Fannie married Randolph Hackworth in Bastrop Co, Tx.
I picked up some data that G.W. Bigby might be the son of a J.S. Bigby and wife, Catherine, from Tennessee. I haven't checked this out as yet. Maybe it will help you.
Good luck with your quest. Barbara
