Thank you Jerry. I appreciate your information. Recently I have read the newly published Moravian Diaries set, and enjoyed picking up day to day information about family members with whom the missionaries came into contact. I had not known that Elizabeth Scott, whose mother was a Hicks, had had a hearing problem until that was mentioned in the book. Wonder if that had anything to do with her changing husbands so frequently? Also noted Edward Adair's visit to the mission when their son James died, and him crying through the church service. There was much about Charles Hicks and his faithful service not only to the mission, but to the Cherokee Nation, in spite of his physical disability.
