Joy, thank you for replying. My grandmother has a sister who is still living. She lives in Coker Creek ,Monroe Co.,Tn.. I will go ever our family ancestry with her if she is willing. She is in her 80's but my sister said she looks like she is in her 50's. She should be able to shed light on our past. I hope to apply soon with the Eastern Band of Cherokee. I was always told that mama was 3/4 Cherokee. My mother's brother looked like he was nearly full blood. Mama was married to Homer Ray Goodwin. I thought maybe papa was part Cherokee too. I will give information as soon as I get it. Thanks for your interest.
