Hi Ken,
My family is from Oklahoma and are of Cherokee heriatage. A few years ago, I spotted a picture of A.J. Bigby in the National Geographic. I contacted the Fort Belknap agency and got in touch with Pancho Bigby. Last summer, my fiance and I went to Montana an met with him. We determined that we probaly were not related although Bigby is not a real common name. I am interested in where your name came from. Do you have any family history on this? Our family have been traced to James Bigby, a Cherokee, who was born in Indian Territory Tennessee in the 1700's. He was a Council Member that helped to present the Cherokee Memorial to Congress before removal in 1838. He was also an interperter on the "Trail" making the trip at least 4 times. The last trip he made was to get his 15 year old daughter who was left behind when the rest of the family was removed. Interesting stuff this. Please tell me about your family, even if we are not related. Thanks.
Sunny Bigby
