Hello Peggy,
I have that John Franklin Biggers married about 1854 in Tennessee, Sarah J Russell, and that they both died in Arkansas.I have him as the son of Alexander Franklin Biggers, who died about 1857 in Missouri, and Margaret McBride, who died about 1882 in Sharp County, Arkansas.
I also show that Alexander F Biggers was the son of Joseph Biggers and Jane Denny, and the two on the 1850 census shown as 75 and 71, are their kids, John L Biggers, age 25, and Jane F Biggers, age 21.Notice that the sevens on nearby entries are more angular, and that the twos are made several ways. (I could be wrong about this).
The second listing is Robert J Biggers that married Elizabeth Bagley.
The third listing is Joseph W Biggers, III, that married Mary Martin, and his father Joseph W Biggers, age 73, that was married to Jane Denney.Martha Biggers is Joseph III sister, and Mary is his wife, and Emily and Neil are their children.I show that Jane Denny died about 1820.
You must understand that this is not my direct line, and maybe someone from this line will reply.I have traced my line back to Davis A Biggers and Nancy Amanda Perry that died in Hill County, Texas, in the early 1900's.I believe that James Biggers and Mariah Robertson/Robinson are Davis A Biggers parents.
Hope this hasn't confused you more. With every third child named James, Alexander, Robert, or Joseph it is very confusing.
