(Capt.) James Holden Billinghurst, born 1800, Bow. Mdsx., was one of the last Pacific whalers to operate out of London as a home port. As a widower he married Susan Milne 22 Aug, 1840 at St Peter, Walworth, Surrey. Susan was one of ten children of David & Sarah Milne.
James & Susan B. had 3 children:- Clara Elizabeth, Henry Holden and James Holchester Billinghurst. The latter was a successful London surveyor who married Angelina Lydia Lewin and had 10 children.
Clara Elizabeth B. married John Edwards, an engineer and Henry Holden Billinghurst died in infancy.
I look forward to hearing from anyone descended from this family.
David Milne
