I am trying to trace distant relatives by the name of Billington in, or formerly in, Philadelphia. I have the following information only.
Elizabeth Ward, born about 1833 in Theddingworth, Leistershire, England, married a John Billington. They had three children: Willie, Fannie and Emily (no dates). Billington died and Elizabeth remarried a man named Ludlow and lived with him in Philadelphia. I do not know whether she lived there with Billington or only with Ludlow. I also do not know whether the son, Willie, remained a Billington or adopted the Ludlow name. Fannie was married and had at least one daughter prior to 1890.
For many years Elizabeth (Billington) Ludlow kept in touch with her only sibling, Jane (Ward) Ireson, who lived in Markham, Ontario, Canada. Sometime prior to Jane's death in 1906 – and possibly long before this date – Elizabeth announced that she and her husband were planning to move but she didn't say where, and that was the last that anyone in the family heard from them.
Are any of these names familiar? I am trying to clear up some loose ends in a major genealogy project and these are among the people I'm trying to trace.
