Hi Keith,

I am also looking for information on the Billington's of Wayne, ME.

My wife recently discovered that she may be the 4-great grand daughter of Rebecca Billington. We beleive that she married Paul Ladd of Winthop, however, our research tells us that he was killed in Winthrop in 1824.

We also believe that they had one child, Mary Ann Ladd, who was born in Wayne on June 11, 1815. Mary Ann Ladd married the Rev. Abraham Plumer of Bucksport, ME in 1835. They had 3 children, all Methodist ministers like their father, Charles (my wife's 2-great grand father born in 1839), John and Cyrus Plumer.

Our research has also found that Widow Rebecca Ladd remarried the Rev. John Atwell of NH in 1826 when he was assign to the local church in Wayne. Rev. Atwell then adopted Mary Ann.

Mary Ann Plumer died shortly after the birth of her 3rd son in 1843.

Our question: do you know anything about Mary Ann Ladd? We have dead-ended after her death, and we have little physical data of her life. In particular, where did she live during her short marriage to Rev. Plumer, and where might she be buried?

I look forward to your response,

Scott and Jeanette
