Rowena: The Cemetery you mentioned was on on my Granddad Jennings farm there at Sage. He was related to the Billingtons
thru his aunt Mary Malinda "Lynn" Wammack who married William
Anderson "Will" Billington, son of William and Permelia.
I think he probably bought the farm from Will and Lynn after
William died. Will probably inherited the farm after his father died. William bought the farm from Henry Hawkins who
was the original owner in 1855. This probably happened right after the Civil War, Hawkins and Billington may have known each other in the war. The first time William shows up Izard County is in the 1870 Census, where he appears with his second wife and 7 children, the youngest three of which are shown as born in Arkansas. These were Jeff Davis, Leanah and Robert at
ages 6, 3, and 1. This would indicate they were in Izard County by 1864.

I have considerable information on the Billingtons of Izard County, since I was born and raised at Sage. Contact me if you need more. Harold Blevins
