Dear Anne,
Hi!I am a Binnie descendent. It was interesting to see some of your Binnie's lived in Currie.Mine also.Of course the names you mentioned are very common through out the Binnie families. My Binnie's (as far back as I have recorded) began with William Binnie m. to Margaret Pinkerton she was born in 1712. They had several sons, one being John Binnie m. to Alison Templeton. Their Son(s) was Robert Binnie m. to Agnes McLaren.Their daughter (1 of 10 children) was Alison Binnie. She married John McLean. They had 14 children. When Alison was a young girl, her mother and some brothers and sisters sailed to America from Scotland in 1849. They settled in Kane co. Illinois. My great great grandmother Alison Binnie Mclean had as I said 14 children. Their daughter Alison McLean married my great grandpa, Ephraim McBroom also a son of Irish immigrants. They left Illinois and ended up in Minnesota. One of their 11 children was my grandpa, Guy McBroom. Please tell me alittle about your Binnie family.I am sure they were related. Mine came from Airdrie, Linlithgow, Bathgate, Torryburn Fife West Lothian Scotland area. Some of my Binnies stayed in Scotland: Mary, George Bartholemew, William and possibly Henry, stayed in Scotland. I believe probably Their uncles and aunts did to. Hope to hear from you. Thanks!Barb
