MY GREAT-GRANDFATHER WAS HENRY BINNING. HE WAS MARRIED TO GEORGIA MC KELVEY. HE DIED IN OR ABOUT 1934, AND SHE DIED IN 1955. I DO NOT POSSESS MUCH WRITTEN INFORMATION. I RECALL MY GRANDMOTHER SAYING THE BINNINGS WERE SCOTTISH. I HAVE FOUND BINNING IN SOME SCOTTISH RECORDS AS PART OF THE MAC BEAN CLAN. I HAVE NOT RESEARCHED FURTHER. AS I RECALL, ADAMS COUNTY IS HOME OF NATCHEZ. THAT WOULD SEEM LOGICAL, AS MY GRANDMOTHER AND FAMILY LIVED IN THE SMALL RIVER COMMUNITY OF BAYOU SARA, ABOUT A MILE FROM ST. FRANCISVILLE, LA. WOODVILLE AND NATCHEZ, MS, AND ST. FRANCISVILLE, LA., ARE FAIRLY CLOSE TOGETHER. BAYOU SARA, WAS ON THE RIVER BANK AT ST. FRANCISVIILE. IT FLOODED EACH SPRING, AND THE FAMILY HAD TO TAKE REFUGE IN ST. FRANCISVILLE OR WOODVILLE, WHICH WERE ON HIGHER GROUND NEARBY. THE FAMILY LEFT THE AREA IN OR ABOUT 1912, SO THAT MY GRANDMOTHER COULD ATTEND THE FEMALE COLLEGE IN MANSFIELD, LA. THE ENTIRE FAMILY MOVED TO MANSFIELD, NEAR SHREVEPORT, EXCEPT ONE SON, FRANK, WHO REMAINED IN BATON ROUGE. HENRY'S YOUNGEST DAUGHTER DIED IN 1995, A LITTLE SHORT OF REACHING 100. WILLIAM AND THOMAS WERE NAMES USED BY THE FAMILY. THERE IS A LARGE CONTINGENCY OF BINNINGS IN THE MANSFIELD, LA. AREA. BEST LUCK WITH YOUR RESEARCH.
