Hello Matthew!
What a wonderful surprise. My husband's name is Peter Francis (son of Gordon Francis who was in turn was the son of Alice Cook and Conway Temple Francis). Gordon immigrated to Australia in 1927 aged 17, married in 1947 and had 5 children, Peter being #4. Gordon and Fred were close mates and cousins in Australia back in the 1920's onwards until of course he met his demise in Java just after the war.

What is your mum's name and who was her mother? We would love to know whatever happened to Peter's grandmother, Alice Cook. If your mum can tell or can remember...wow!!
Do you live in the UK or elsewhere? Peter and I have just come back from England following our respective ancestors' however, we are planning to return next year.
