Dear Toni, I don't appear to have replied to your message !!
Mary Ann Foster Birkett married William Hillyer Calbreath in 1846 at Horwich in the parish of Deane. Her fathers name was William and he is described as a servant on the marriage certificate.
I really know no more about her and have never found any leads that would take me further back. Mary died in the 1860's and her husband remarried and moved back to his home town of Tiverton in Devon.
I suppose my only option is to check out the 1851 census for Horwich and hope that the father is on there. I would really like to know if the family were from Lancashire. Thanks for replying
Regards
Andrea.
