Ian,
My GGGrandmother's maiden name was Birkett. She married John Wylam abt 1851 and lived in Trimdon Village, the remainder of her life.
She named one of her children James Birkett Wylam. He died in 1862. We believe that another son was named Robert Birkett Wylam.
Her eldest child was Margaret Ann Wylam, born in 1856. Do any of these people tie in with yours?
Jeanne Nelson
