Hi David:

My family married into Birketts in Millom, Cumberland around the end of the 1870s. Solomon Birkett came to the US to Mine but returned to England where he died. His brother Wilson Birkett married his widow in 1890. The interesting other link is that the widow's sister married a Harry CHARLTON. Have you searched on this variation? Clearly the two families were linked. Unfortunately, I don't link to any of the names you mention.
