Additionally to my last post .....

We understand there are many Birketts both in Cumbria and The Lake District and across the other side of the Pennines in Tyne and Wear.

Family legend has it that the name is originally Viking, but I have no supporting evidence for that assertion. Any help in this direction would also be greatly appreciated.
