I am looking for information on John Blackard born March 31, 1818 in Tennessee. We have records of him living in Sevier County Arkansas and then relocatin to Sebastian County, AR. He had a brother named Willoughby Blackard. Willoughby married Martha Bourland, (date unknown). He was in the Civil War and was captured by the Northern army in 1864. He was released just before the end of the war in late 1864.

John first married Mary Counts. Their children were: William Carroll b. 1840, Thomas H. b. 1841, Milton Blackard b. 1846, Mary Elizabeth b. 1849, Sarah b. 1852, John Riley, b. 1853, Lucinda Catherine b. 1856 MS, Martha, b. 1858, Joseph b. 1860, Tennessee P. b. 1861, Nancy b. 1863, Rhoda Pricilla b. 1864. All of these children were born in Arkansas with the exception of Lucinda who was born in MS. John then married Martha Bourland, (Blackard), (after her husband Willoughby passed away),in 1868 in Sevier County, AR. John and Martha's children were: Lou Ellen b. 1868, Prior Willoughby b. 1871 and Molly Bell. The family then moved to Sebastian County.
