Ummmm, Wellllll, (hem/haw)(cough) Guess you got me. lol
But, even as I write, I am posting to a guy, who writes that he is a descendent of Grant Blackard, whose daddy was John L. Blackard and mother was Evelyn (?-not familiar with that) Starkey? And this guy lives in Omaha!!
I can remember we "climbed the walls" over John L.Blackard. There was my great-aunt Vera Blackard, daughter of John Hershal Blackard, my Mom who was Elsie Blackard's daughter, Jack Blackard, grandson of Alfred Blackard, and Lola Walters, related to everybody. And I just wrote it down. But we also had a really ancient family tree, given to us by Ira Shain, who had gotten it in the late 40s from descendents of James Alexander Blackard, son of Thomas Blackard and black sheep of the family- he had served in the civil war in the 30th TN Inf, CSA. This tree had mostly been put together sometime after the Civil War.
With John L., the "brain trust", remembering the Starkeys personally, assembled his generation.
Apparently, between "Evelyn" and the memories of the oldsters, now all passed, this got hopelessly screwed up.
