Forgive me if I am misunderstanding, but
Roy are you saying that your mother's information dates William, father of Jobe, to 1728 and Charles, father of Willoughby, to 1713. This is wonderful information if we can trace it.

I belong to the BLACKARD-L@rootsweb.com list, but I haven't seen this discussed there. Are you referring to another list?

I live only 10 minutes from Person County and have contacted the Blackards there. I do not know of any Blackwoods around here, but I will check further. There are very many Blalocks, but I don't think that's what you meant. I plan to visit the homeplace that you refer to soon with a son of Nellie Blackard Cobb, a descendant of Thomas William Blackard.
