This is the same information that I have. BUT documentation is needed. My information is from a handwritten transcription of Irvin Hence BLACKARD's discharge. I can find no one who has the original or a photocopy of the discharge. There is a mistake in the unit identification and no records have been found for him in any other unit for his enlistment or discharge in Arkansas or North Carolina. The date of death given is that of the Battle of Wilson Creek/Oak Hill. It seems unlikely that a discharge would have been issued on that particular date. Johnson County units were part of State Troops in the early part of the conflict. After their term of enlistment these troops were released and many were reformed into Confederate companies. I have found no information on the service of Irvin Hence BLACKARD and am most interested in exchanging information on the sources of your information.
