Thanks - yes, definitely helpful, although
I'm wondering about Wm. Merrit BLACKARD's
wife, as I have Rachel Holmes BELL (?).
Something new to puzzle over. . .
The first Willoghby, s/o Wm. BLACKARD + ?
is said to have been from Scotland, and his
life was saved, in the Revolutiion, by a Scots officer who heard him speaking Gaelic.
Nifty story, but does anyone know where they
were from before N.C.? The name is Scottish,
but what do we know besides that?
We're grateful for any help possible.
