Hi Rhonda,
One of your cousins here. Jonah was my Great Grandfather, I can just barely remember him bouncing me on his knee. He had this long scraggily beard and moustache and was very thin. He had a cane. My mom has pictures of him and everyone else. Here is how my line goes:
I am Anita Natalie Ballenger Armistead (try fitting that into the little spaces for names!) my father was Leonard Hurley Ballenger (m. Katherine Natalie Daniel) his mother was Lennabell Jane Blacketter (m. Alva Ballenger) her parents were William JONAH Blacketter and Dora Welty they were married 3-31-1889. Jonah and Dora are buried at Independence Cemetery (Burbidge) Jonah's parents were John Wesley Blacketter b. 9-29-1840 in Indiane d. 10-22-1927 and Nancy Jane Hamilton b. 12-24-1839 in Missouri d. 01-18-1873. John Wesley's parents are John Henry Blacketter b.2-16-1806 in Virginia, d. 7-13-1884 and Frances Hamner b. 3-13-1810 in Mercer Co, d. 3-3-1847 in Hardin Township, Pike County. They are buried in Rose Hill Cemetery in Pike County. They were married in Bartholomew CO. IN 3-3-1829. John Henry's father was William Blacketter b. 1768 in McKlenburg, VA. and that is was far as I have gotten so far. Please if anyone has corrections to this let me know.
Yes, I am Alvie and Lena's granddaughter. It is rather unique in that in the family 2 sets of sisters married 2 sets of brothers, Lenabell (Lena) married Alva Ballenger and her sister Opal married Walter Ballenger. Lena and Opal's sister Edith married Bert Main, and their sister Cecil married Tom Main.

Like I said if anyone has corrections to this let me know!!

Natalie Armistead
