1860 Fed Cens. Mahaska, Iowa shows John and Hannah and 3 yrs old son Thomas .
No, my Thomas S. is the son of John Henry b. April 23, 1826 and Hannah Lane. Even the census backs this up. I have found he had a brother Houston Riley and a sister Susan, The census even says there is another sib. Hannah Louisa Blacketter.
I am not sure how I found out about Susan. Houston was the grandpa to my cousin . I was thinking he, Houston, was the brother of Edmond but I do not think so now. What I can not find is all the siblings of Thomas S. here in Pike co., I am sure there are some and I can not seem to fill in the blanks. There have always been 2 sets of Blacketters in the area and they did not believe they were related. But they are. One set spelled it with 1 T. and the other with 2 T's. I am determined to find the missing link. I think it lies in the sibs of Thomas S.
