Virginia Land Grant records for for several early settlers. The records establish the name,
date and location, but thats about it.
John Blacketer - Accomack Co - 1666
Peter Blacketer - Nansemond Co - 1711
Alexander Blackiter - Nansemond Co - 1713
Peter Blacketter - Nansemond Co - 1715
The preceeding were individuals transported to the Colonies from G. Britain for settlement.
Peter Blacketer purchased 224 acres in Nansemond Co in

1728. All of the preceeding information is
from the publication "Cavaliers and Pioneers of Virginia." Vols 2& 3.
The records include descriptions of the land location.
Early records for Blacketers in Maryland. There is John Blackiter, wife Elizabeth and
children George, Mary and Francis in 1698. Jane Blacketor as witness to a will in 1693. George
Blacketor in 1704. These may all be from the same family. The John B. mentioned in Maryland may be
the person from Accomack, VA. Source is the Maryland Calendar of Wills - Vol 2.
