I have found several Blacketers by the name of George. None are in my direct line, so I have no supplemental family insight to offer.
1)George, son of Vincent Blacketer and Lucinda Stewart. Born in KY, listed in the 1850 census for Mercer Co. Age 4 yrs. Another source says 1847-1925. One of nine children.
2)George, son of Lewis Blacketer and Elizabeth ? Born in IN. Listed in the Hendricks Co. census of 1880 and 1860. Age 24 yrs. in 1880.
3)George M. son of James R and Rhody S. Durham. Born in Mercer KY in 1859. This record is suspect as I have it from two compiled abstracts. The other has the males interchanged.
4)George W. Blacketer fought in the civil war for the Indiana Infantry. Born abt 1843 in Indiana. Taken prisoner in KY, released in 1862 and died of "camp fever" in Louisiana on a hospital boat in 1863.

I hope you find this of some value.
