I checked Rootsweb on John Richey to find out where he had lived in Indiana, to narrow it down; it showed Gibson County. Then I did a search on the internet "Gibson County Indiana+Black Hawk War" and came up with a list of those who had served from that county:

John Richey was not on that list, but you might do some more searching on this. Possibly in a Gibson County History, where they have lists of men serving in the various wars. Good luck.
