John Lancey BLACKMORE - Devon?
Posted by: Jonathan Gould Date: February 01, 2002 at 02:02:32
  of 1004

I have been chasing my Blackmore roots around Bristol, Worcester, Staffordshire and elsewhere, but have now found that (according to the 1851 Census) John Lancey (or Lancy) Blackmore was born in Devon around 1814/5. He moved around the country a lot after that. The problem is that John Blackmore is a common name in Devon, so I was wondering if anyone had any information that linked to this particular chap. I guess that the Lancey middle name may refer to his mother's name, but in any case it narrows the search down a little.
Regards,
