I definitely won't leave you.I have just recently started my search and am trying to get all the bits and pieces together.I'm finding the search is both fascinating and seriously time consuming and due to limited time and funds it will take me awhile to connect the dots so to speak.
I was surprised to see a Swearingen connection on the Blackmore side because they were so prominent in the Hannaford photo album.Hannaford was my gr grandmothers maiden name.
I had seen Joseph B Blackmore in the 60th roster but was unable to make the connection.
In reference to the"Bleckmord" listing with Denis C certainly appears to be my gr grandfather.AN astonishing spelling Indeed.Looking at those early census's and trying to interpret the handwriting can be challenging to say the least. I also seem to find that the male children often use their middle name when they've grown up.
I will certainly contact you when I have a more definitive connection.
Thanks Greg
