Hello, Maxine.

Are you still looking for the origin of your Margaret Blackmore?

I noticed that you mention that she died near Gallatin, TN.

Are you aware that MANY of the BLAKEMORE family from Fort Blackmore (sometimes called Fort Blakemore) wound up in Sumner County, TN?

John Blakemore and his brother Joseph Blakemore along with the David COCKE (aka: COX) Family, and one other family whose name I can't find built Fort Blakemore.

When they left, they were on a flotilla of flatboats which floated down the river to the 'French Lick,' soon called Nashboro (aka: Nashborough) and what we now know as Nashville, Tennessee.

Are you still looking for Margaret?

There's lots of stuff online, nowadays, but oftentimes, you must search on a huge variety of variant spellings to locate what you need.

I presume she is part of this Blakemore family which was in Virginia before locating in Tennessee.
