I have not looked at the forums in years, but did a little blackmore searching 10 years ago...there is a short synopsis of the legal pursuits of the Blackmore heirs contained in a book called "The Blackmore Millions" written by Clyde A. Everhart (of Rochester NY, now deceased). The only known copy that I could locate is at the Carnegie Library in Pittsburgh PA. I received an intralibrary copy 11 years ago and it contained a few tidbits, but apparently no lease had ever been produced so the claims never went far. Anyway, just another Blackmore descendant here but heard the same stories ever since I was a child and actually have lots of scraps of paper, letters, notes of research my grandfather did almost 100 years ago on the subject....i am not a genealogist and have great difficulty following the disjointed bits of scribble, but do have a couple of letters from Archibald Means who was researching the lineage in the 1890s and a couple of letters from a law firm around 1903 that someone contacted about looking at the claim yet one more time....good luck
