Hi Ian, thanks for the reply!!! no I don't know her parents names or really anythiing about her direct family. I've always thought that Maria's father was Richard Blagrave but not for sure. All I have been able to find that may remotely relate to her is John Blagrave who was born in 1828 in Kildare and married Maria Sharp. I think this may be Maria's brother as they had a son, Benjamin born in 1864 in Philipstown, County Offaly. I am truly puzzled as I've seen many Blagraves coming from County Meath. On the US 1925 Census 4 of Maria's sons (one being my great grandfather, Thomas Gill) listed their mother as coming from Northern Ireland. Because of the tragic story I mentioned before, a lot of oral family history has been lost. I don't know, but suspect that my Blagrave family may have migrated from Northern Ireland to Meath, Westmeath and Offaly by the early 1800's. I am pretty sure that her husband, John Gill and his family are from Offaly. I've heard that the ancestral home is in Castledown.

Where are you located? I think the Blagrave name is very unique so we must all descend from the same place. Again, any help would be very greatly appreciated. Thanks Brad
