Of course, after I sent that long email, I have found more of my notes. What I sent previously is pretty much the proven and the basis for supposition. The following are more tidbits I've gathered but haven't completely assimilated into my software/database. (did that make sense?)
I've checked the Indiana State Library Genealogy Database for Marriages through 1850, and there IS an Arthur L. Blagrave, who married a Rachel Harris on 9/26/1824...... but in Daviess Co. I think that's just NW of Dubois Co.
I also posted some requests on the Records Look-up forum. Here are the message numbers of the replies:
42537 - found in 1840 IN Dubois census.... remember these are just heads of household and tick marks: A.L. Blagrave and Harrison Blagrave; an Emet Blagrave in Orange Co. (close?); Harrison's marriage; Arthur L's marriage.
42531 - found in 1850 IN Dubois Harbison census....... lists Arthur, Cassandra and 3 other girls
42536 - found in 1880 IN Dubois Madison census...... but widower & with different children, also marriage of that daughter, and a land transaction
You can go to any of those, print and post follow-ups if you find something or want more information or images. The time I have to spend on genealogy right now is devoted to lines that go back to the UK & Ireland, because we are planning a trip there later this summer. So, let me know if you find anything definitive there in Indiana. Can you see my email address?
