Ian,

The only information I have on Elizabeth ADAMS that I believe is accurate does not give her maiden name. The name WORRELL came from an Ancestral File on the LDS web site - www.familysearch.org. I have found that any transcription of names from this time period are frequently only a guess at interpreting the handwriting. The family record that I have gives the following:

"Isaac and Elizabeth Adams lived in Berkshire, England. They had nine children - six boys and three girls. Isaac Adams was a timber merchant; his son, John Adams, was a dairyman; kept 50 cows and sold milk in London. He was married in 1810 to Sophia Blagrave, daughter of Joseph and Elizabeth Blagrave of Newbury, Berkshire, England. He came to America in the spring of 1832. Joseph Blagrave was a Barraster (Lawyer) and had two children, a son and daughter - Joseph and Sophia. Sophia Blagrave married John Adams. They had seven children, four sons and three daughters. They buried their two youngest sons in London in infancy. They oldest child, Eliza, married Henry Sheffield, of Canandagua, New York, March 2, 1833. The second daughter, Sophia, married George Adam Myrtle in Tiffin, Ohio, October 26, 1833. George Myrtle was born in Spire, France, May 6, 1806. His father was German; his mother French. He came to America in 1831. He died at Mansfield, Ohio, October 12, 1843, aged 35 years, 6 months. George, Joseph, and Elizabeth Adams died single and are buried at Norwalk, Ohio."

"Alfred Adams died September 23, 1830, aged 18 months.
John Adams died March 6, 1831, aged 4 years, 4 months.
George Adams died September 18, 1838, aged 21 years.
John Adams died April 18, 1849, aged 63 years. (Grandfather)
Elizabeth Adams died September 1, 1850, aged 26 years.
Joseph Adams died September 21, 1850, aged 31 years.
Sophia Adams died December 31, 1850, aged 63 years. (Grandmother)"

I have no maiden name for Elizabeth Blagrave. I have no further information on Joseph and Elizabeth Blagrave at all, other than what I have listed above. Joseph Blagrave was a lawyer and he had two children, Joseph and Sophia. Sophia was born about 1787.

I hope you have some information for me. I was not able to find your e-mail address, so I could not send the copy I had mentioned.

Thanks again for you help.
Marilyn
